Zo Home Services uses industry approved cleaning procedures including razor blade scrapers, steel wool and/or bronze wool to clean windows requiring non routine/aggressive cleaning measures as defined by the IWCA. Windows that are left unprotected during construction, home renovations, and/or DIY home projects can create situations that require more aggressive cleaning techniques. Conditions that may require more aggressive cleaning techniques include but not limited to: 

• Paint accumulation

• cement/concrete splashing on glass

• Stain or varnish overspray

• Silicone sealants and/or lubricants smeared or sprayed onto glass/frames

When used properly razor blades, steel wool, and bronze wool will not scratch glass, however there is always a risk when using such non routine/aggressive cleaning measures that glass may become damaged or scratched. Particles stuck on the glass (such as cement) can get stuck under the blade causing scratches. Furthermore, it is possible that windows not properly taken care of during construction, home renovations, and/or DIY projects have become damaged prior to any cleaning. This damage and/or scratches can be hidden underneath dirt and other materials found on the glass (i.e. paint and cement). Additionally, windows with cement, stucco, and other materials can scratch glass at any time during construction, home renovations, and/or DIY home projects, or during cleanup. This is an inherent risk for glass that was not properly protected during the various construction phases and/or during home renovations/DIY home projects.

By declining the use of non routine/aggressive cleaning measures it is agreed and understood by the undersigned that Zo Home Services will ONLY use ROUTINE cleaning measures, and as such cannot guarantee the windows will be cleared of all debris and/or materials including but not limited to: paint, cement, and sealant.

By accepting the use of non routine/aggressive cleaning measures it is agreed and understood by the undersigned that Zo Home Services will ONLY use non routine cleaning measures if it is deemed necessary.  

By signing this agreement you agree that you have read and understand the above statements. Furthermore, it is agreed by the undersigned that Zo Home Services WILL NOT be held liable or responsible for any damage or scratches found on these windows or window frames.
